Particulate sizes from polarization measurementsAn experiment with a ground-based polarimeter is described. It is shown that the optical properties of particles in the atmosphere can be inferred on the basis of the measured data of the radiation field. The results of the investigation demonstrate that the turbid atmosphere can be continually monitored with the aid of remote measurements of polarization and intensity.
