Optimization of mechanical vibration isolation systems with multi-degrees of freedomThe main objective was to optimize the steady response of lumped parameter vibration systems with multi-degrees of freedom subject to one or several harmonic excitations. Since the steady-state response varies with the resonant frequencies of the systems, the dampers introduced in the system are optimized in such a way that the most critical response is reduced to a minimum. A discussion is included of the techniques of optimization, and a report is given of the results of tests performed for supporting the technique adopted.
