Quantized vortices around wavefunction nodes. IIThe expectation of quantized vortices around the nodes of wavefunctions is formulated in terms of Schroedinger quantum mechanics, and the derivation is shown to depend only on the requirement that the wavefunction be single-valued and continuous. The implications of circulation for the topology of the nodes are discussed, and consideration is given to the nodes and circulation of a smooth wavefunction in D dimensions and to the significance of exceptional nodal points. The theoretical results are illustrated by an example of an infinite field of regularly spaced vortices.
