Satellite measurements of ocean wavesSatellite measurements of the directional spectrum of ocean waves are beneficial to theoretical wave research, ocean engineering, and marine activities. Wave measurements from satellites by active microwave systems also help to analyze those processes that govern the transfer of heat, water vapor, and momentum across the air-sea interface.
