Stratospheric effectsThe mechanism of the destruction of ozone by fluorocarbons is described and models for predicting future levels of stratospheric ozone are discussed. Measurement of various stratospheric constituents, particularly ozone, fluorocarbons, and other chlorine compounds, is also considered. Industrial and governmental activities in this area are described.
