Real-time detection and data acquisition system for the left ventricular outlineA data acquisition system for the left ventricular outline which has potential for online use is described and basic principles of the contour detector are presented in detail. It is concluded that the data acquisition system for real time, online detection of left ventricular outlines has many advantages over presently used manual or semi-automatic procedures in a clinical investigative environment.
