Fuel System Protection-Chapter 6The hazardous nature of most fuels and the potential for catastrophe if ignition should occur was investigated in regard to the design of adequate lightning protection for aircraft fuel systems. Typical aircraft fuel flammability characteristics and possible ways to control fuel flammability and ignition were reviewed. Guidelines for effective protection of fuel systems were delineated.
