Ultraviolet spectrometer/polarimeterImproved satellite instrument package consists of telescope, spectrometer with polarimeter, five detectors, and control electronics. Instrument is designed to study solar ultraviolet radiation. Polarimeter will determine four Stokes parameters and possible mechanisms for producing linear and circular polarization. Density measurements of Earth's upper atmosphere constituents are possible.
