Noise suppression in forward-scattering optical instrumentsApertures and stops located at conjugate points in receiver optics reduce noise caused by scattered light. They are placed as real, inverse images of each other, so only light from sample volume reaches detector. Noise suppression technique increases signal to noise ratio on order of 15 dB.
