The telecommunications and data acquisition reportProgress in the development and operations of the Deep Space Network is reported. Developments in Earth based radio technology as applied to geodynamics, astrophysics, and radio astronomy's use of the deep space stations for a radio search for extraterrestrial intelligence in the microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum are reported.
