The global atmospheric research program

The survey paper deals with the major activities, during the past four years, within the Global Atmospheric Research Program (GARP), written for the Atlantic Tropical Experiment (GATE). Emphasis is on the participation of the United States, but in the context of the international effort as a whole. The activities are outlined according to the subprograms recognized by the international Joint Organization Committee for GARP.
