Correcting for Background in Flowing Plasma MeasurementsMovable langmuir probe measures charge-exchange plasma density and flow in vicinity of an ion engine. Angular dependence of probe current is utilized to determine plasma flow direction at probe location. By rotating target, data are shown to be independent of target-sputtered ions.
