A Monte Carlo approach to tolerance analysis of a near-diffraction limited optical imaging systemA computer program was developed to generate random numbers on the Sigma V computer. A subroutine gave a random real number from a uniform distribution on the interval (0,1). A normal distribution with mean zero and variance 1 was also obtained.
