Specialized physiological studies in support of manned space flightThe reversible changes that take place in the cardiovascular system during weightlessness were investigated. Particular attention was given to the assessment of cardiovascular functions during and after space missions. One of the most important of these functions is the amount of blood pumped by the heart per min at rest and during exercise of gravitational stress.
