Structural analysis of cylindrical thrust chambers, volume 2Analytical results are presented which predict cumulative plastic deformation characteristic of damage observed in coolant channel walls of regeneratively cooled rocket thrust chambers. The damage consists of bulging and plastic flow which leads to thinout and rupture of the channel wall under the combined effects of high pressures, high temperatures and temperature gradients experienced during cyclic firings of actual test chambers. Analytical predictions correlate with test results.
