Telecentric optical system for observing daytime chemical releases at high altitudes

A system to be used for the tracking of high altitude chemical releases in the presence of a bright daytime sky is described. The system uses telecentric optics, a tilting filter, a solid state image sensor, and a real time digital processor to produce the release image. Field test data are presented.
