Measuring Mirror Tilt With High AccuracyStroboscopic technique freezes mirror motion so displacements can be measured. Improved autocollimator accurately measures angular tilt of plane mirrors in rotational or reciprocating motion. Device is conventional autocollimator in which steady light source is replaced by stroboscope synchronized with mirror motion. It is accurate to 1 second of arc.
