Interchangeable-socket dropproof wrench comprises three essential parts: handle assembly, socket assembly, and pip-pin assembly. Socket assembly is disengaged from handle assembly only when engaged to pip-pin assembly. Socket assembly therefore remains tethered and cannot be dropped or lost except by deliberate removal of pip-pin. Dropproof tool is useful where ever loss of component would be inconvenient or hazardous. Used by divers and by people working on scaffolds.
