A benchmark-multi-disciplinary study of the interaction between the Chesapeake Bay and adjacent waters of the Virginian SeaThe social and economic importance of estuaries are discussed. Major focus is on the Chesapeake Bay and its interaction with the adjacent waters of the Virginia Sea. Associated multiple use development and management problems as well as their internal physical, geological, chemical, and biological complexities are described.
