Surface resistivity measurements of candidate subreflector surfacesSubreflectors on DSN antennas have historically been of formed and welded sheet metal construction, which is quite costly. Flame-spray metallized fiberglass-epoxy offers an alternative technique at much lower cost. Results of a study to show that system noise temperature would be increased about 0.3 K at X-band when using the alternate material is presented.
