Spacelab Mission 1 Experiment Descriptions - Second EditionSpacelab Mission 1, known in Europe as the First Spacelab Payload (FSLP), is a cooperative effort between NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA). NASA will provide he Space Shuttle Orbiter; and ESA will provide Spacelab, a flexible laboratory system installed in the Orbiter cargo bay to provide a science research center. Both agencies will share sponsorship and coordination of Spacelab investigations.
