The Colorado experience (evaluation and selection of hardware for automated, geo-based information systems)A turnkey system which gives technical assistance to legislative redistricting and state census data affiliate activities is described. The procedures followed for the acquisition of the Colorado automated census mapping system are presented. Price and performance criteria of the system were examined and the system architecture is outlined.
