X-29A forward-swept-wing demonstrator airplaneThe X-29A is a technology demonstrator. The FSW is just one of the technologies. Others include the following: discrete variable camber, relaxed static stability, triplex digital fly-by-wire (FBW) control system, variable-incidence/close-coupled canard, aeroelastically tailored composite wing, and thin supercritical airfoil. The growth potential for additional technologies is shown.
