The UV emission line spectrum of NGC 6572Ultraviolet spectra of the medium excitation planetary nebula NGC 6572 were obtained with IUE both in the low and in the high resolution mode. These spectra reveal a superposition of emission lines arising in the expanding atmosphere of the central star, evidenced e.g., by their P Cygni profiles, and features arising in the planetary nebula proper. The latter were analyzed in order to determine C, N, O abundances.
