Uncooled IR DetectorDetector combines liquid crystal film with light-sensitive solid-state array. Liquid-crystal film acts as IR detector when maintained just below temperature of transition from opacity to transparancey. When IR radiation is absorbed by film, resultant heating changes visiblelight transmission, modulating uniform visible light beam as it passes through film.
