Collecting Light From Point ImagesLight from sources at varying positions brought to fixed opening. In telescope field divided into 10 strips, 10 pairs of optical fibers moved laterally and longitudinally to any required position in their assigned strips. Fixed ends of fibers arrayed in line at spectrograph entrance slit. Concept developed to enhance efficiency of spectrographs on astronomical telescopes.
