Correlation of core noise obtained by three signal coherence techniquesThe prediction of frequency content and noise levels of turbofan engine core noise is reexamined as a result of recent test data and a new diagnostic technique. The diagnostic technique, utilizing a three-signal coherence method, is used to obtain core noise spectra for several engines. Similarities and differences of the spectra are discussed. Finally, the three-signal coherence data are correlated, leading to an improved core noise prediction procedure.
