Microwave radiometry sampling problems demonstrated with Nimbus 5 rain rates versus GATE dataThe performance of rain estimation techniques is analyzed. The results from the Griffith/Woodley satellite rain estimation technique are tested. Results, although preliminary, allow objective determination of the feasibility of the use of satellite rain estimates at various scales of interest.
