The receptivity of boundary layers on blunt bodies to oscillations in the free streamIt is concluded that in the region of the nose of a symmetric, two dimensional blunt body at zero angle of attack, the steady plus oscillating flow is very similar for a wide class of body shapes. This conclusion was shown to be true for elliptic cylinders with a/b 25, and for the parabolic cylinder. In all cases, the flow field in the nose region of a two dimensional blunt body is generic to that of the flow in the neighborhood of the stagnation point on a plane wall.
