Shuttle contamination effects on ultraviolet coronagraphic observationsThe ultraviolet light coronagraph being developed for Shuttle by the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics is described. Effects of Shuttle contaminants on ultraviolet coronagraphic observations are discussed and column densities for acceptable attenuation are provided which are generally applicable to high spectral resolution measurements in the 600 A - 1700 A spectral range.
