Temperature-Gradient Furnace for Solidification ExperimentsGradients are controllable from zero to 500 degrees C/cm. Typical temperature profile superimposed on partial cross section of furnace. Steepness of gradient varied by adjusting flow of energy to and from different zones of furnace. Specimen placed in ampoule moved inside ceramic tube according to needs of experiment. Furnace provides axial temperature profiles for material processing experiments.
