Operator Workload Measurement Validation for the MARK IV DSCC Monitor and Control SubsystemThe validation of some proposed measures of operator workload in a large interactive computer system is described. The tests were conducted on MARK III deep space network (DSN) equipment using experienced operators as subjects. The significant operator workload measure are identified and useful guidelines are obtained on operator task scheduling.
