Dynamics and energetics of the South Pacific convergence zone during FGGE SOP-1The major objectives are to: (1) diagnose the physical processes responsible for the maintenance of the South Pacific Convergence Zone (SPCZ); and (2) examine the role of the SPCZ in the large-scale circulation patterns of the Southern Hemisphere.
