Aubrites and diogenites - Trace element clues to their originA typically igneous siderophile element pattern emerges from an RNAA analysis of 25 aubrite and nine diogenite samples for 13-29 siderophile, volatile, and lithophile trace elements, although it is noted that abundances are about 10 times higher in the case of aubrites. Se is also surprisingly abundant in aubrites. Factor analysis shows several parallel groupings for aubrites and diogenites. Several element pairs that differ greatly in volatility correlate closely in aubrites, in approximately C1-chondrite proportions, suggesting that aubrites originated by igneous processes in their parent body.
