The meteorite-asteroid connection - Two olivine-rich asteroidsTwo asteroids have clear indications of olivine-rich surface petrology without any indication of pyroxene or plagioclase, suggesting that the olivine may be quite pure. They provide probable examples of mantles of differentiated parent asteroids exposed by fragmentation and are good candidates for the parent bodies of the unusual olivine meteorite Brachina or the olivine-iron alloy meteorites called pallasites.
