Flat-plate solar array progress and plans

The emphasis of the Flat-plate Solar Array Project has been shifted from price goals and commercial development toward longer-term, higher risk, higher-potential-payoff opportunities. The revised objectives, status, and plans of the project are presented and technical progress is noted in the areas of: large-area sheet formation; silicon feedstock refinement; flat-plate module process sequence development; and engineering and environmental testing.
