Thermal management considerations for 100 kW(e) In-Core Thermionic Space Nuclear Power SystemThe general thermal management approach for the SP-100 In-Core Thermionic Space Nuclear Power System is presented. Thermal advantages and design features of the heat transport subsystem are addressed, including the selection of parameters, heat transport fluid, and materials. Pumping considerations, thermal insulation requirements, and radiator design are discussed, and the impacts of system scaling to higher power levels are projected.
