Solid-State Detector for Trace MaterialsDetector for trace chemicals senses as few as 10 to the 12th power molecules of given material on surface. Contains no moving parts, amenable to large-scale integration, and operates at room temperature. Potential applications in industrial process control and in environmental analysis. Characteristic signals indicate presence of certain chemicals.
