Two-dimensional infrared detector arraysAn introduction to overall IR array concepts and particular array designs is presented, and examples of laboratory and observational data obtained with IR arrays are given. Hybrid array designs, extrinsic silicon accumulation-mode charge injection devices, and switched-FET or switched-sample photoconductor techniques are summarized. Three recent astronomical observation projects which used IR arrays are examined.
