The effects of charged dust grains on IR molecular excitationA number of issues involving grain charging in the interstellar medium were discussed. Such effects include: (1) stark broadening of molecular spectral features, (2) electrostatic grain rupturing, (3) enhancements in particle-grain collision cross sections, and (4) excitation of molecular rotations and/or vibrations.
