Small scale frontal strucutre: Dynamics or details?Four topics concerning frontal circulations are discussed. The results of retrieving pressure and buoyancy perturbations from Doppler radar taken in an intense cold front, recent results on instabilities that occur along well detined frontal boundaries, the initiation of convection by frontal circulations, and the present crisis in the understanding of occluded frontal systems are discussed.
