Observation of the onset of an emission episode in the Be star Mu CentauriA series of recent CCD observations are presented which show the development of H-alpha emission in the Be star Mu Centauri over a period of two days. Complementary observations of He I (6678 A), together with UV spectra from IUE observations suggest that a massive cloud of material was ejected abruptly from the receding limb of the photosphere during the outburst period. Computer generated illustrations of the CCD data are provided.
