ACTS baseband processingThe baseband processor designed for NASA's ACTS experimental system operating in Ka band is described. The ACTS baseband processor facilitates the interconnection necessary to support scanning spot beam low bit rate communications. The dynamic reconfiguration of message routing and the individual application of forward correction coding to overcome localized rain fading are among the processors many advantages. Preliminary hardware testing results are reviewed.
