Space environmental considerations for a long-term cryogenic storage vesselInformation is given on the kind of protection that is needed against impact and perforation of a long-term cryogenic storage vessel in space by meteoroids and space debris. The long-term effects of the space environment on thermal control surfaces and coatings, and the question of whether the insulation and thermal control surfaces should be encased in a vacuum jacket shell are discussed.
