On the use of composite grid schemes in computational aerodynamicsSome of the composite grid approaches used in aerodynamic applications and the associated advantages and difficulties are reviewed. In particular, attention is given to patched grid schemes, overset grid schemes, and the computational aspects of composite grid schemes. As an example of a computational procedure, an algorithm is presented for constructing a hole in a grid caused by a body overset onto another grid.
