Optimization Of Array Of Laser RetroreflectorsReport discusses analysis and optimization of design of array of corner-cube prism retroreflectors for use on TOPEX satellite. Analysis builds on methodology developed for array antennas where far-field pattern-shape requirements dictate optimum orientation and location of antenna elements, in this case laser retroreflectors. Reviews design requirements for array and describes signal-attenuation effects that must be considered.
