Low-Speed Optical SpeedometerProposed speedometer measures speed of vehicle along ground by comparing signals from two inexpensive sensors focused on surface passing beneath vehicle. Delay between terrain-reflectance signals from two optical sensors indicates speed. Used to measure speeds as low as 10 cm/s.
