Some Insights on Solar Variability from Precision Stellar Astronomical PhotometryAt Lowell Observatory, precision photoelectric photometry was directed toward the study of solar variability and the variability of sun-like stars beginning in 1949 and continuing until now. The ubiquity and range of low-level variability, including some that appears to be cyclic, among solar-type stars shows that recent solar variability may be unusual only in its present restraint.
