Optimizing Elastodynamic Performances Of Composite LinksMethod for design of laminated fiber-reinforced-matrix composite structural links of rectangular cross section optimizes damped-elastodynamic performances of links, making compromises among stiffness, strength, and damping of vibrations. Based on theory correlating damping with parameters of material(s), shape of link, and modal vibrations of link. Particularly desirable in robotic manipulators because they minimize vibrational and static-load bending, which give rise to positioning errors.
