Self-Collimating Unstable-Resonator Diode LasersProposed unstable-resonator diode lasers produce solid, collimated output beams without external collimating optics. Simpler to construct, used as pumps for optical-fiber amplifiers in telecommunications, for other solid-state lasers, and sources of light for free-space communications.
